St-Jean-d’Arves ski resort information
St-Jean-d’Arves is a small village located 50 m below St-Sorlin-d’Arves and is located in the massive Les Sybelles ski area in Frances Maurienne massif which offers an impressive ski area covering 310km of piste. Despite the size of the ski area it remains a secret from the British market that in general flock to the larger ski areas in France such as the three valleys, La Plagne and Les Arcs. One reason for this must be the lifts, which are often slow, in fact only 10% of the lifts are fast but even this has a positive slant, slower lifts means less people so with fewer skiers and boarders the snow can stay good for weeks after fresh snow fall.
St-Jean-d’Arves is located on a ridge just above Le Corbier; two blue runs connect the village to the ski area. The lifts out connecting to a point above La Corbier is painful slow, the tears running down your face wont be from the speed of the lift, but once out you have a good large ski area to explore.
