It's very rude to spray other boarders on the hill. Spray is the snow that comes off the ground when you land a jump or biff. Advice from pervious customers:

Chalet Pauline, Val dIsere, France

A luxury Premier ski chalet offering an indoor swimming pool and Hammam, Chalet Pauline is located on the private estate of Les Fermes de Val d'Isère. Sleeps 10.

At a glance:

- Stunning freestanding chalet

- Views of Isère valley

- Private and peaceful location in Les Fermes de Val, just a short walk to the village centre

- Indoor swimming pool

- Wonderful, double height spacious living area

- Steam room

- Premier service with private chef

Alongside its sister chalets Mathilda, Alice and Marie, Chalet Pauline epitomises the clever blend of the classic-look ski chalet allied with feature packed facilities to give some of the best ski chalet accommodation in the Alps. The design incorporates copious amounts of wood and as soon as you enter the chalet you are cosseted by the calm and warmth of the chalet - exactly what you would expect a traditional chalet to offer. The size of the chalet is impressive for a 5 bedroom property. The second floor living room is dominated by the open fireplace and panoramic windows overlooking Val d'Isère and the surrounding mountains. In warmer weather there's nothing better than sipping champagne on the balcony as the sun slowly slips behind the snow covered peaks. The living area is open plan, with a separate kitchen. Beautifully presented meals are served by your private chef on the main dining table although a smaller dining alcove allows children to have their own dinner party away from the adults. As you would expect from a chalet of this quality, Pauline boasts a comprehensive entertainment system plus wi-fi throughout.

Above the living area, one bedroom occupies the whole top floor, giving the perfect place to rest your tired limbs, kept warm by luxuriously fluffy duvets. Of the other bedrooms, each is dominated by the warm wood, but each is distinct in its character - Chalet Pauline does not do standard box shaped rooms! Three of these bedrooms are on the first floor including (arguably) the master room with it separate dressing area, well crafted bathroom and views towards the mountains.

The fifth bedroom is on the ground floor, next to the wellness area of the Chalet Pauline. Relaxing after a day's skiing is a vital part of any ski holiday, and what better way than to take a relaxed swim in the swimming pool before soothing muscles and cleansing your skin in the steam room. Alternatively just sit back on a lounger and drift off in anticipation of a pre-dinner glass of champagne. There is a separate TV room on the ground floor which is a great place for children to play or for some of your party to enjoy a film. The ground floor is completed by the ski room with the heated boot rack making sure your boots are perfectly ready for the next day's skiing.

Although the operator shuttle service will take you to the lifts, the chalet is in the quiet and exclusive Les Fermes area of Val d'Isère, only a 10 minute walk to the centre of the village. Close enough for convenience but secluded enough to avoid any late night noise from the village.

Chalet Pauline effortlessly blends the best of traditional chalet architecture with modern day sophistication to deliver an outstanding luxury chalet experience. If your requirements for a ski chalet holiday are traditional design, spacious living areas and bedrooms, en-suite facilities, swimming pool, steam room, open log fire, delicious food and wine served beautifully and modern entertainment systems then it delivers perfectly. Whether you are travelling with children or a group of adults, Chalet Pauline will take it all in its stride.

Chalet Pauline has five bedrooms all featuring traditional wooden beams and Moroccan style ceilings. Three of the five bedrooms are large, making them ideal for sitting in peace and quiet and reading a book (or accommodating a cot or an extra bed).

The party leader can choose between two bedrooms which could be considered the master. Room 5 has a South facing balcony and is particularly spacious but Room 2 has a cosy sofa corner and a view of the Isère valley.

Each room has an en-suite bathroom decorated with a mixture of wood and modern slate tiles. All bedrooms have electronic safes.

Room 1 - Double/Twin

A large twin/double room on the ground floor with en-suite bathroom.

Room 2 - Double/Twin

A double/twin room with a sofa / extra bed in the anteroom. Ideal for parents with a young child or three children. En-suite bathroom with shower above bath and double basin.

Room 3 - Double/Twin

One of the two smaller rooms - a double/twin with en-suite bathroom with a shower above the bath and a double basin.

Room 4 - Double/Twin

Smaller than the 3 larger rooms, this double/twin has a small walk in wardrobe and a good size en-suite bathroom with shower above the bath and double basin. Has a partial view of Solaise mountain.

Room 5 - Double/Twin

The largest room offers good privacy as it is alone on the top floor. High ceilings and a private South facing balcony give a real feeling of space. The shower room has a rainforest shower and double basin. Separate WC. It has a flat screen TV, UK Freesat HD and iPod dock.

Childcare

This operator pioneered skiing holidays with childcare and this is an optional extra that many families consider indispensable. Baby Sitting

Children's Club

Purpose designed children’s club staffed by qualified nannies. Children engage in a fun and varied, indoor and outdoor activity programme with other children. They are fed a healthy lunch and snacks. Nannies take and collecting children from ski school as required.

Facilities

Alternatively it could be used to accommodate an extra person if your party is bigger than 10 or it can provide a quiet office space if required.

Menu options:

In your luxury catered chalet the fire pops and crackles in the background as you sip a glass of Laurent-Perrier, and take bite of a mouthwatering canapé. As your attentive host discreetly fills your glass, you can lie back and relax as the muscles in your legs buzz with the day's activities.

Incredible smells drift from the kitchen, where your private chef is putting the finishing touches to dinner: Paprika wafer with tiger prawns, followed by filet of beef and thyme rosti. And when the sticky toffee and cardamom pudding appears, you realise resistance is futile.

Unlike the set menu you’ll be served by other chalet operators, our ski chalet chefs tailor the menu to your personal taste. Enjoy five-course gourmet dinners in Flagship and Premier chalets and four courses in Original chalets. Delicious breakfasts are also served and you can enjoy tea in bed each morning too.

Alternatively, if you're a hotel guest you can rest assured that our handpicked luxury ski hotels are chosen not only for their character and service, but their exquisite dining. In addition, we can advise on which resort and mountain restaurants you might like to sample during your ski holiday.

Fine wine

If you choose to stay here, you’ll enjoy Laurent-Perrier Champagne, and instead of a carafe of anonymous chalet wine, you’ll be served a choice of carefully selected bottles, such as Bois d’Yver Chablis, Pouilly Fume“ and Cadillac Bordeaux. And if you’re staying in a Flagship chalet and would like to try a bottle of Pe“trus, it’s simple – we can arrange it.

Each wine is carefully selected by our master of wine, Keith Isaac, alongside our Food & Beverage manager and Andrew Dunn himself. Andrew has been personally involved in making sure that everything we do is of the highest quality, which includes offering only the finest ingredients to our guests. Every year, each wine is tasted and considered by this group, the culmination of which is a fine wine menu of superb quality and diversity.
