When chalet Mathilda was completed in 2005, a new standard of luxury ski holidays was set. Service akin to that of a five star hotel and wellness facilities including an indoor swimming pool and steam room were combined in a brand new, spacious and chic private chalet.
Designed and built by the same architect who created our Flagship chalet Eagle's Nest, Mathilda continues to command a place among the very best chalets in Val d'Isère and the Alps by virtue of size, facilities, quality of finish and the style that stands the test of time, combining traditional Alpine style with the clean and crisp influences of today. Chalet Mathilda features not only an indoor swimming pool with jet stream but also a Hammam.
On the ground floor is the fabulous wellness area with indoor swimming pool with jetstream and hammam (steam room). There is also a TV room / study / playroom which adds a useful degree of versatility and can even be used for an extra occasional bed.
On the first floor are four bedrooms all with private bathrooms decorated with fine Italian tiles and crisp white porcelain. The bedrooms and living room feature a wealth of beams and panels of old reclaimed wood, which makes them truly unique.
On the second floor, an authentic stone fireplace compliments the spacious open plan living room and dining room and a large sun terrace adds to this already impressive area. The panoramic windows make the most of the dazzling alpine scenery. On the top floor is the fifth en-suite bathroom which is delight. Full of character and romance, it sits alone beneath the eaves and feels like staying in an original alpine chalet.

Located only a short walk or very short drive from the centre of Val dIsère, yet in a private a peaceful private estate, Chalet Mathilda offers the very best in chalet skiing holidays and will suit both adult groups and families perfectly.
Chalet Mathilda has five bedrooms all featuring traditional wooden beams and Moroccan style ceilings. Four of the five bedrooms are on the first floor, making it ideal for families as parents and children can have neighbouring rooms. The spacious master suite has a flat screen TV, UK Freesat HD and iPod dock, and benefits from both bath and separate shower. However, the fifth room on the third floor under the eaves is also worthy of the "master" title. Each room has an en-suite bathroom decorated with a mixture of wood and modern slate tiles. All bedrooms have electronic safes.
Room 1 Twin/Double
A lovely room that can fit a cot and extra bed. It has an en-suite with bath and separate shower. One of four rooms located on the first floor.
Room 2 Twin/Double
Located on the first floor alongside rooms 1, 3 and 4, there is space for a cot and extra bed. Equipped with an en-suite bathroom with bath and separate shower.
Room 3 Twin/Double
The smallest room in this beautiful chalet. Located on the first floor, next to rooms 1, 2 and 4, there an en-suite bath with shower attachment.
Room 4 Twin/Double
Located on the first floor next to rooms 1, 2 and 3. This bedroom is large enough to accommodate a cot and extra bed. Equipped with an en-suite bath with shower attachment.
Room 5 Twin/Double
Room 5 is the only room located on the mezzanine - on the very top level, above the lounge/dining area. There is space for a cot and extra bed. Equipped with en-suite bath and separate shower.
Childcare
This operator pioneered skiing holidays with childcare and this is an optional extra that many families consider indispensable. We offer childcare from 4 months and ensure that children have the most fantastic holidays and that parents can completely relax with peace of mind that their family is in great hands. Your children can be taken to and collected from ski lessons and will be kept entertained with a varied and imaginative activity programme and given healthy home made lunches and snacks.
Our childcare staff are qualified professionals and guests at Solyneou benefit from our exclusive children's club. Babysitting is available too. A wide range of equipment for babies and toddlers can be provided to all guests on request, usually free of charge.
Baby Sitting
Baby sitting is available in the evenings on a request basis and is chargeable per hour.
Children's Club
Purpose designed children’s club staffed by qualified nannies. Children engage in a fun and varied, indoor and outdoor activity programme with other children. They are fed a healthy lunch and snacks. Nannies take and collecting children from ski school as required.
Facilities
On entering chalet Mathilda, you are greeted by the view of the fabulous Wellness area with the indoor swimming pool with jet stream and steam room. Also on the ground floor is the ski/boot area with boot warmers. The separate TV room is a great facility offering children their own space to play, watch TV or to use the X-Box 360. Alternatively it can be used to accommodate an extra person if your party is bigger than 10 or it can provide a quiet office space if required.
In the living area, Mathilda is equipped with flat screen, satellite TV, DVD player and sound system. There is also a selection of games.
