Very cosy chalet in a quiet location close to the Solaise cable car. Ensuite facilities in every room. Generous free places for filling this chalet.



As the name implies, the owners of Chalet du Berger were part of the original farming community in Val d’Isère. The chalet itself is very much in the French family home style, so has great character, but we'd be kidding if we said it was really smart. We have 8 other chalets in Val d'Isère which are indeed very smart, with outdoor hot tubs, pish posh sofas and WiFi, but Du Berger offers great value for money and an excellent location for keen skiers and boarders. The Solaise cable car is only a 4 minute walk away, and you can usually return on skis to pretty close by at the end of the day. The lounge/dining area has a warm atmosphere and good views up to La Solaise. Some bedrooms are smaller than others (just ask when you call us) but all have ensuite facilities and hot water is always on tap! The chalet has two triple bedrooms offering great flexibility for families or groups of friends. We offer a generous discount of 1½ free places for filling the chalet, so if budget is a key factor, Du Berger is definitely worth a look.

As our regular guests will testify, our chalet hosts provide a tempting cooked breakfast and a mouthwatering three course meal six days a week, as well a delicious afternoon tea every day. Before dinner on Sunday you'll be welcomed with Champagne and canapés, and we also serve a cheeseboard one night, then a glass of kir with your canapés again on Saturday evening. Below you'll find an example of just a few of our most popular dishes.



We don't charge you a penny for being coeliac, vegetarian, or even a fussy eater! However it does make our chalet hosts' lives much easier if they have advance warning of your requirements, so please let us know about any allergies and intolerances when booking.
