From the moment you arrive at the airport, our ski hosts are on hand to help. They will accompany you on the transfer from the airport to resort, answering any ski questions you might have. Thereafter, they'll guide you on the slopes finding the best snow conditions, the shortest lift queues and the best lunch stops - with a table reserved in advance.
Ski hosting is available 5 days of the week. There are three ski hosting groups for you to join, each split according to level of ability and speed. You can join the group for leisurely, intermediate or advanced skiers for half of the day or the whole day, or switch groups whenever you wish. It's up to you.
Ski hosting groups meet after breakfast at 9am and all groups stop for lunch at the same restaurant, giving you the chance to catch up with friends, family and fellow guests. Choose to continue in the afternoon with the group or take time out to do your own thing. At the end of the day our hosts will accompany you back to the hotel for a well deserved cup of tea.
Our hosts are advanced skiers and know the resort intimately, but they are not instructors or accredited mountain guides. If you are a beginner the we can assist you in arranging lessons with the local ski school.
The Aiguille Percee is a great place for adults and groups of friends, the hotel has a large sociable bar at ground floor level opening out on to a sunny terrace. The restaurant is spacious with room for large groups or a table for two.
Tignes Le Lac is great for an evening out, with plenty of pubs and bars and is just a free bus ride away. Although it's not as famous as its Espace Killy "partner" Val d'Isere, the drinks are often cheaper and the atmosphere more laid back.
Where to go...
Loop Bar - The Loop has one of the best sun terraces in Tignes. Looking out over the lake up to the Grand Motte, it's the perfect setting for an après-ski beer. Inside there is a pool table, and all live sports are televised.
Bagus Bar - Situated on Rue de la Poste, this funky bar is now in it's second year of new management and they've brought a taste of urban chic to the Alps. A mix of cow-hide and chrome decor, fabulous cocktails and top DJ's flown in from the UK make this a popular spot.
Grotte du Yeti - This is one of those crazy bars that's always busy and the music always playing. It's a great place for an afternoon's dancing in your ski boots!
Alpaka - Relax on the comfy sofas and try a few of the renowned cocktails. Champagne night is on a Monday and Saturday afternoons are reserved for some televised sport with a pint and a pie.
Open till 4am...
Jacks Club - For many people in Tignes, this is a bit of a marmite club. Those who shudder at the thought of dancing round a pole to a bit of 70's disco, a bit of 80's cheese and a bit of 90's rock all mixed together, then this probably isn't your thing. Everyone else, we defy you not to have fun here. |
