Les Arcs Plan Peisey ski resort information
The ski resort of Plan Peisey is located just below a wooded valley at 1600m within the Les Arcs ski area linked to La Plagne via the Vanoise Express. The Vanoise Express has its crossing point in between Plan Peisey and Vallandry so very convenient if you intend to buy the full area pass. The two area s combined give 425km of piste, Les Arcs local mountains offers 200km of piste.
Plan Peisey is located on the far right hand side of the piste map; the woods above are an ideal place to take shelter if the weather closes in. The village itself is very small however new chalet styled buildings are being added each year to expand the village size. The buildings are all in a Savoyard style with lots of timber and stone.
Ski Line has a good selection of catered ski chalets with a number of these offering child care with British nannies and in house crèches. We also have a limited number of self catered apartments and a very limited selection of hotels.
Après ski in ski resort Les Arcs Plan Peisey
Limited to a few bars and restaurants, Plan Peisey is not the place to be for wild night life. It’s possible to walk along the flat road towards Vallandry which offers a few more places for a night out on the town.
Activities off the slopes in ski resort Les Arcs Plan Peisey
The off slope activities are very limited in the Les Arcs ski area, its possible to do some pleasant walks along mountain paths and by taking a bus to Arcs 1600 you can reach Bourg St Maurice with a wider range of shopping available.
Beginners skiing in ski resort Les Arcs Plan Peisey
There is a small nursery slope area in the village which is not ideal, however once the basics have been mastered the progression slopes above Plan Peisey are ideal for quick learners. There are flat green runs through the trees and blue runs galore to try at the end of the week.
Intermediates skiing in ski resort Les Arcs Plan Peisey
The whole area on both sides of the ski area (les Arcs and La Plagne) are ideal for all levels of intermediates. One of the key strengths of the area is that many of the main routes down offer both and easy and more difficult route, making it ideal for mixed ability groups. The pistes are generally wide motorway style slopes great for cruising and carving. We recommend intermediates take a full area pass to include skiing in La Plagne.
Advanced Skiing in ski resort Les Arcs Plan Peisey
Plenty to offer advanced skiers in the local and full area. There are some truly testing blacks above Arcs 2000 which are well worth a go. There is also some challenging terrain dropping down to Villaroger. The off piste in both La Plagne and Les Arcs is very good with some great runs offering steep sections.
Snow boarding in ski resort Les Arcs Plan Peisey
The Les Arcs area has been a Mecca for snow boarders for many years, the sheer variety of terrain plays a big part in its popularity with boarders of all levels. The off piste terrain for boarders is amazing mainly on the back bowls behind Arcs 2000. Beginners are particularly well catered for on the slopes around Plan Peisey and Vallandry and just above Arcs 1600. If you haven’t been here yet, why not?
