Les Coches is a small village located next door to Montchavin so is ideally placed to give access to the connection to Les Arcs in addition to being able to ski the 225km of piste skiing that the La Plagne Mountain offers. 85% of all these runs are on either Blue or Red runs making it an ideal ski area for intermediate skiers and snow boarders.
Les Coches enjoys a car free centre.
Les Coches is located at 1450m so is lower down the valley than the high and purpose built villages in the La Plagne ski area, but that’s part of its appeal for many who prefer to stay here. The benefits are simple, less people queuing for the lifts in the morning and empty slopes on the last run back down at the end of the day.

Les Coches has its own nursery slopes just above the village at Plan Bois reached via a 6 man chair; a ski school is also located in the village for convenience. Once you are ready to try out a blue, the choices are endless.

More advanced snow boarders should plan routes in advance to avoid some of the flat areas. It’s advanced boarders that will love it here best, the off piste is remarkable, it’s worth booking a guide to find some of the best open bowls and if the weather closes in there is plenty of trees to head for.
