Champery is a typical resort and village, which is lively all year round. Close to Geneva airport and direct train access, Champery is part of the largest ski areas in Europe, the Portes de Soleil. With its excellent sports centre and heated outdoor spas, Champery really has a whole range of activities.
Champéry itself is a pretty village with an old-fashioned feel on its main street.
With the beauty of Les Dents du Midi Mountains as a backdrop, the village's offer both a delightful sanctuary and a warm welcome to any visitor.
Many of the villages original buildings that the early settlers stayed in long ago are still standing, and today the village's rustic allure, its excellent facilities and keen sense of community ensure that the resort has a loyal following of international clientele who return year after year.
The skiing
Less than two hours from Geneva, Champéry is the gateway to the massive Portes du Soleil ski region. From here you can ski to Avoriaz, Champoussin, Morgins, Les Lindarets and Morzine, Les Gets and more resorts.

Advanced
There are few challenges locally however - the wider Portes du Soleil area has plenty of tougher runs. There are off piste opportunities at Chavanette and other parts.
Intermediate
For confident intermediates the Portes du Soleil area is ideal.
Beginners
Beginners lessons take place on the gentler slops in the area.
Snowboarding
Don't be too put off by the access to the Portes du Soleil which has a few draglifts to negotiate. Once in there, there are good terrain parks for experts and some nice powder areas.
Après ski
Mitchell’s is popular at teatime – big sofas and a fireplace. There are many pubs, lively discos and nightclubs. |
