Chalet Braye is a great 8 bed chalet, located in Meribel Village with rare close proximity to the piste and chairlift – only 70m. On top of this, guests were able to ski back to the chalet terrace all of last winter. It is also only a 2 minute walk from the hub of the Village. The chalet is made up of 4 double/twin rooms, 2 upstairs and 2 downstairs, all with en suite shower/bath and sink. There is one loo upstairs to share between 2 bedrooms and likewise downstairs making it ideal for 2 families or a group of friends. There is a small mezzanine upstairs overlooking the open plan living area and kitchen.
Traditionally alpine in style with open fire and Goldilocks bedrooms, Chalet Braye has a cosy and homely feel. The open plan living and dining area has high ceilings and large French doors that open up onto a south-facing terrace kitted out with deckchairs – a perfect sun trap.

Here the chalet staff believe that quality and quantity are of the upmost importance. The Chalet staff pride themselves on the adaptability, flexibility and variety of their cooking, they do however understand that everyone has different tastes and will always endeavour to meet your culinary needs whether you have food intolerances or just down right fussy. They are both Cordon Bleu trained, have worked in reputable London catering companies, have plenty of chalet chefing experience, and many a dinner party under their belts. |
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially when skiing, so cereal, yoghurts, fruit, porridge, fresh croissants and bread with homemade jam, and even good old English eggs and bacon should fill you up. For an action packed day, as you leave in the morning have a pick from our basket of mini chocolate bars, piste maps and tissues waiting by the door. Menu 1: -Roasted asparagus risotto on china spoons - -Seared St Jacques Scallops with crispy pancetta and a mint pea puree Fillet of beef sitting on a crisp potato rosti, with wilted nutmeg spinach and wild mushrooms with a red peppercorn jus- -Individual brioche bread and butter puddings- -Selection of local cheeses- -Fresh coffee and a variety of teas- Menu 2 -Mini Croque Madames with a fried quails egg- -Salad of roasted figs stuffed with herby goats cheese wrapped in local Jambon Cru- -Oven baked Salmon with a basil crust and hollandaise served with a galette of spinach, potato and gruyere, and a trio of honey roasted vegetables- -Amaretto and Pistachio Semifreddo with homemade biscotti- -Selection of local cheeses and fruit- -Fresh coffee and a variety of teas- The Chalet staff indulge in an afternoon of wine tasting with Jean Jacque, their local wine buff before the season starts and as a result, offer a selection of hand picked wines and champagne from numerous distinguished wine regions. Wine flows continuously, as little or as much as you would like. For those who prefer the hops, beer is on tap when ever you feel the need. |
