Breakfast
For breakfast you can eat as much or as little as you like. Choose from fruit juice, cereals, muesli, fresh French bread with butter (including Meridian Almond Butter) and preserves, as well as eggs, porridge or one of the hot options including sausages, bacon and of course English tea or French coffee (and Rocks Organic Squash, for the children).
Sunday: Sausage, bacon, tinned plum tomatoes, fried bread and fried egg
Monday: Bacon, fried egg and fried potatoes
Tuesday: Eggy bread topped with crispy bacon
Thursday: Sausages, fried bread, baked beans and scrambled egg
Friday: Fried Egg, sausage, bacon and fried bread
Saturday: Sausages, grilled or fried tomato, scrambled eggs and mushrooms.
Afternoon Tea
For afternoon tea (every day including the chalet hosts day off) is the most informal meal of the day, help yourself to fresh bread, butter and jams, biscuits and home made cake or scones, either eaten at the table or relaxing beside the fire.
Dinner
For Dinner, one of the highlights of the day, chalet hosts use fresh seasonal produce.
Chalet Hosts cook a 3-course evening meal (on 5 nights). On the final evening of your holiday, your chalet host will produce a 4-course evening meal including a local Cheese board and port.
The evening meal is served at 8pm. See below for details about children's dinner.
Wine
To complement your meal we serve free and unlimited good quality Red and White wines during the course of dinner. After dinner fresh ground coffee or decaffeinated coffee as well as tea are served in the lounge. Additionally, this operator has teamed up with its wine supplier Le Cellier to offer a wine delivery service giving you a greater selection of wine while on holiday. If you would like to order additional wine you can do so direct with Le Cellier. (Minimum order 6 bottles & orders must be placed at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. Free delivery to your chalet. No discount is given if you do not drink the chalet wine)
Special Food/Dietary Requirements
Our chalet hosts are used to adapting the menu to accommodate your food preferences. If you do have a specific dietary need (e.g. Vegetarian or Coeliac) or an allergy, please let the office know at least 10 days prior to your holiday start date. Many food preferences can be dealt with on arrival. Please note that French alpine supermarkets do not have the same range as British supermarkets, therefore if you have very strict dietary needs it is helpful if you can bring a few items.
Children's Food
Children aged 11 and under will be served High Tea at around 6pm. This is provided at no extra cost and ensures that your child's normal routine is not disturbed: soft drinks (including Rocks Organic Squash & Cordial) or milk are served with the meal. It also ensures that adults can enjoy their evening meal, which is served at 8pm. If you have booked a whole chalet then you can eat together - please speak to your chalet hosts on arrival. |
