La Ferme du Chateau, originally built in 1680, has undergone an extensive renovation program to adapt this traditional Savoyard farmhouse into luxury accommodation offering all the benefits of modern comfort yet retaining all of the beautiful traditional architecture of the region. The renovation criteria were comfort and spaciousness to create a luxurious yet homely atmosphere.
La Ferme du Chateau is run by Christine, co- owner of the property, and her team who believe that a relaxing & exceptionally comfortable environment offering top class service, excellent food & facilities are a winning combination.
Christine is in-situ to ensure that your holiday runs smoothly and that you can sit back, relax and enjoy your holiday whilst she and the team take care of everything for you.
La Ferme du Chateau is situated in the centre of La Chapelle d’Abondance, part of the Portes du Soleil ski region, and only a few minutes from Chatel. La Chapelle d’Abondance is a traditional Savoyard village which has a very French feel, two of the best restaurants in the valley and a ‘real ale pub’ and La Ferme is very close to the local ski runs; it provides a wonderful base for either winter or summer holidays. The livelier resort of Chatel is only minutes away by minibus and transport is provided.
La Ferme du Chateau offers 6 ensuite bedrooms some with south facing balcony and stunning views of the Mont de Grange nature reserve and a sunken hot tub for your use in the decking. All rooms have the flexibility to be twin or double rooms and most can accommodate additional beds for families thus making La Ferme and ideal venue for couples, families, singles and corporate groups alike.
The living area has been created from the old grange of the farmhouse offering a large open plan area consisting of the kitchen, dining area, living area, snug and mezzanine level all focused around a traditional stone fireplace.
Food and wine are also an important aspect of the holiday and at La Ferme du Chateau we offer a cooked English breakfast along with fruit, cereals and yoghurt each morning, homemade cakes and biscuits with afternoon tea each day and an excellent 4 course evening meal with wine on 6 evenings. We also offer a children’s supper option for the younger skier. Each season we choose our house wines very carefully to compliment our menus but can also offer additional wines for a small extra charge.
Price at La Ferme du Chateau includes transfers to and from Geneva, minibus shuttle to and from the slopes each day, ski guiding on 4 days and advanced booking of lessons, ski passes and equipment hire and childcare can be organised as part of the holiday on a bespoke basis. |
