Chalet Lucette almost demands that every evening after a glorious days skiing you venture out onto its large south facing balconies, aperitif in hand. The show you will witness is second to none. As the snow-covered ridge above 2000 metres starts its incredible change, the light below fades and the colours slowly change from pristine white through pink and finish off fiery red – it is truly a spectacle and one we believe must rank amongst the best views anywhere in the Alps. As part of a family skiing holiday it creates a memory that’ll long outlive the moment.
Chalet Lucette, a spacious stone and wooden catered ski chalet, is situated in the heart of La Villette. Relax in true Alpine style by the roaring wood fire whilst the finishing touches to the evening’s culinary treats are made.
All your needs will be looked after from the abundant breakfasts that greet you in the mornings, through afternoon tea and the exquisite 4 or 5 course candle-lit dinners you’ll be served on 6 out of 7 nights. Thanks to our mini-bus service and free taxi service take advantage of all the convenience of a Vaujany ski chalet half a mile up the road in even more bijoux surroundings.
Our team of Reps are always at your service. You will be invited to come skiing with our ski leaders who can open up the mountain in whole new ways.
The Lucette experience
- You know the day has started well when you’re woken up gently by the scent of freshly baked pastries, baguettes, roasted coffee and fried eggs drifting up through the chalet. And even better the fact that someone else is responsible!
- When you can fit no more, jump in your private shuttle for the 3 minute drive to the main lift in Vaujany, not forgetting to retrieve your overnight-heated boots from your boot room next door.
It takes two minutes to find the instructor for the children, make arrangements for picking them up at the end of the day and you too are set. Tough choice: explore the mountain independently today or join up with the fun of a guiding group and be looked after all day?
- When you can ski no more you may find yourself already back in La Villette, or if not simply ski down to Vaujany and be shuttled back home to freshly baked cake or biscuits every afternoon.
- Lucette’s shared enclosed garden is a great home for snowmen – they love it there! But, if your kids have already made enough and your chef is out of carrots for noses, why not be driven to the excellent gym and pool down in Vaujany?
- Early evening – get yourselves onto the fantastic balconies, not forgetting the evening’s aperitif, and simply stare in awe as the light on the snow above changes to bright red! Behind you your chalet hosts will serve dinner for the kids.
- Still the best to come? Your private chef will conjure up 4 or 5 courses worthy of any top restaurant and your host will even pour the matched French wines for you, whilst the fire crackles away in the corner... It doesn’t get much better!
