In a beautiful setting in the land of the Norwegian Fjords and set on the shores of a pretty lake is the ski resort of Voss, best known for its place in many World Cup skiing competitions.
All levels of skier will find runs to suit them here, but Voss is best for beginners and early intermediates, as the slopes are almost always empty, wide and well-groomed. A cable car takes you from the town to the start of the runs, and so access is easy and convenient.
The half board hotels in Voss that we offer are situated close to the town centre and within a short walking distance to the lifts. Voss resort itself is at an altitude of 50m, however the cable car is 600m vertical so skiing can reach 945m.
The runs in Voss stretch over 40km, and with 19 lifts serving the area there are hardly ever any queues.

The nursery slope in Voss is located at the top of the Mount Hangur cable car, with views across the lake. Complete beginners or those wishing to have a few top up lessons will enjoy learning in Voss, as slopes are un-crowded and wide, giving much needed space to practise your snowplough turns.

Intermediates will thrive here as snow conditions are usually brilliant and there’s a nice variety of terrain on which to build up your technique. Long open stretches of piste and lots of pretty tree-lined runs make for enjoyable skiing, and off-piste skiing is a must.

Advanced skiing in the ski area above Voss includes some tricky competition runs, and some more difficult runs at the top of the piste in the Stettafjel and Floytesteinen areas. Off piste skiing through powder snow shouldn’t be missed, and the Norwegian favourite telemarking can be given a go.
