Vemdalen ski resort information
The ski resort of Vemdalen is fantastic for families with young children or beginner skiers. The small resort centre offers a peaceful base for some easy, gentle skiing, and all the slopes are easily accessible from the main hub.
A total of 45km of pistes are situated here for you to explore, with a lift pass available to serve the full area. Buses link the ski areas and T-bar lifts are mostly used on the slopes, but with un-crowded runs and hardly any queues they make it easy to get around.
The ski area directly above Vemdalen has in recent years had a new mountain opened with more runs, Mount Skalsfjället, served by a new 6 seat chair lift. Vemdalsskalet has the more difficult runs, with easier, more child friendly runs located at nearby resort Björnrike.
The majority of accommodation that we provide here is self catered apartments, but we do have a catered chalet within walking distance of the slopes.

Snowboarding in the ski resort of Vemdalen
The long wide runs in this resort are good for snowboarders, and the terrain park and half pipe are great areas to practice your snowboarding skills. The lift serving the terrain park is the new 6 seat chair lift, but most of the other lifts are draglifts and T-bars, so not ideal.
