The acommodation available is also far more convenient with a lot more ski-in ski-out properties to rent. There is nearly three thousand, crowd-free acres of Rocky Mountain powder, plus access to the world's largest Heli-Ski area.
the skiing
You will find over 4,000 vertical feet and 2,847 patrolled acres of beginner, intermediate and expert terrain accessed via 9 lifts in Panorama. In the Showzone Park, experienced riders will find multiple tabletops, kickers, spines, rails and fun boxes as well as a FIS regulation halfpipe. Skiers and boarders won't want to miss Panorama's largest terrain expansion ever - Taynton Bowl. Formerly only heli-skiing terrain, Taynton Bowl is now lift accessed backcountry style skiing.
advanced
Panorama is an excellent resort for advanced skiers. There’s a few blacks scattered across the mountain and for the experts there's the extreme dream zone where you will find cliffs and some very tight tree line stuff. The Taynto bowl off the back of the summit also offers some challenging skiing which is a lot safer and far better groomed than the extreme dream zone.
intermediate
Any intermediate skier who has not yet done America mustn’t be put off by the huge number of blacks in Panorama as they're about as challenging as the reds you'll find in any European resort. Confident intermediates coming to Panorama must have a look in 'RK heli-skiing' who have a base in the village centre, they specialise in taking first timers up for the day and guiding them round some fantastic off-piste which can only be reached by helicopter.
beginner
Quite a good resort for beginners, there's a couple of nursery slopes served by magic carpets at the base of the resort and some easy long blues to progress to.
family
There's an excellent swimming pool in the resort, which is fantastic for kids. The village is traffic free and child-care is easily arranged for infants over 18 months at the 'Wee Wascals' care centre.
snowboarding
TheTaynton bowl behind the summit and the Sun bowl are fantastic areas for boarders especially in powder conditions.
apres ski
Apres-ski predominantly revolves around 'The Crazy Horse Saloon' in the village centre but there is also a nightclub called 'The Glacier' close by. |
