| Fernie is perfect for all levels of skier/boarder and is renowned for its excellent natural snow conditions and “steep and deep” terrain. |
the skiing The uncrowded slopes make it an ideal environment for families and first time skiers. advanced An endless variety of terrain is available to the advanced skier where there are numerous chutes and ridges to jump off. Explore the great powder where it is easy to make your own tracks and cruise down steep runs to the challenging moguls. intermediate Take the Boomerang chair, which provides easy access to the fabulous Cedar Bowl Terrain, or take the high speed Timber Bowl Express and White Pass Quad to new heights on the mountain. To get to know the terrain better, meet at the base area for a complimentary Mountain Host Tour. beginner The Mini Moose lifts are ideal for first time skiers and boarders. You will soon be experimenting over the whole of the lower mountain, which offers wide open slopes and is a great area to improve your skills. family In the Cornerstone Lodge there's a day care centre and for children ages 6-12 there are Kid's Activity Nights. snowboarding With an average snowfall of 875cm a season it is well worth checking out what’s on offer. Freeriders just wont know where to look – so head for Cedar Bowl and then onto the Cruiser for a wind down. Freestylers can launch the natural hits or ride the newly expanded terrain park located on Falling Star - not one unhappy face here! apres ski The Griz bar is highly recommended and can get quite lively at the end of the day but everywhere in resort seems to get quiet preety early so this may not be the perfect resort for you party animals out there. There are a number of restaurants in Fernie and the 'beavertail lodge' is highly recommended |
