Accommodation records for resort:
Breckenridge, known for snow, service and sunshine is the No.1 USA resort for British skiers.
Breckenridge ski resort information

The ski resort of Breckenridge at 2925m is one of the highest ski resorts in Colorado USA. Founded in 1859 this gold mining town still retains a Wild West charm about it. The skiing is high and varied and the town has a pretty main street and plenty of more modern slope side accommodation to suit all budgets. The Breckenridge ski area is part of a group of 4 which includes Vail, Beaver creek and Keystone. A multi day lift pass covers all of these resorts plus Arapahoe Basin and all are linked by a ski bus (free to all resorts except Vail and Beaver Creek).
The accommodation in Breckenridge covers a wide area with chalets often being found on the outskirts of town in the beautiful Blue Ridge national park.
The skiing is set over four main centres which are linked by both pistes and fast efficient lifts and is very popular with the British ski market.
The slopes are well groomed and offer great choices for all levels of skier and boarder. The views here are to die for as on a clear day you can see many of the highest peaks around some of which reach altitudes of over 4000feet.
Snow reliability in Breckenridge is second to none with the average being over 300 inches in a season. There’s extensive snowmaking which only mainly needs to be used early season and the slopes that face east and north east hold their snow very well.

Ski Line offers not only catered ski chalets and ski hotels but also a very good selection of self catered apartments or ‘condos’.

Après ski in the ski resort of Breckenridge

The après ski in ski resort Breckenridge is pretty lively and there are some great bars and over 100 eateries. Favourite bars include the Brewery and Gold pan saloon. There are also many bars that feature live bands. Eating out can be great value as there are plenty of restaurants vying for your dollar. Rasta Pasta is unusual with an Italian meets Jamaican theme, and Bubba Gumps has (yes you guessed it) seafood – probably shrimp! You can do it all here from burgers to fine dining Breckenridge has it all!

Activities off the slopes in the ski resort of Breckenridge

Breckenridge has a great selection of shops in its Victorian themed main street, but for real bargains you should head for the 30min drive to the Silverthorne designer outlet shopping mall.

Beginners skiing in the ski resort of Breckenridge

This resort is excellent for beginners with a great ski school and a large nursery area at the bottom of peak 9. You have a wide choice of green runs to progress on to. Peak 8 has many greens and runs back down to the valley floor and when you’ve mastered those there is a plethora of blues to challenge you a little more.

Intermediates skiing in the ski resort of
Breckenridge
There are plenty of blue runs to choose from in Breckenridge but many state that they are limited in length. Head for peak 10 for something a little more challenging and peaks 7 and 8 offer wooded trails. Black runs here (are European Red runs) and 55% of the runs in Breckenridge are black. These are quick and steep, but again quite short in length.

Advanced skiing in the ski resort of Breckenridge

Peak 10 has some pretty decent challenging runs over to each side of the ridge as does the runs at the Imperial bowl which lies just below peak 8. Double diamond runs (Europe’s black runs) can be found in both the Horse show bowl and contest bowl below peak 8.
Snowboarding in the ski resort of Breckenridge

Breckenridge boasts one of the best terrain parks in North America. It’s called freeway and can be found on Peak 8, so skiers and boarders will be very happy here. In fact many major snowboarding events are held here every year. Snowboarders will be happy here whatever their levels as there are some great wide cruisy runs which are all serviced by chairlifts. There are many terrain parks here for beginners and more advanced boarders, and experts should head for the steep and deep chutes and bowls over in Arapahoe basin.
