Fügen ski resort information
One of the resorts in the Austrian ski area of Zillertal Superski is Fügen, a pretty ski resort with accommodation such as bed and breakfast hotels, half board hotels and self catered apartments.
The resort itself offers 40km of cross country skiing, served by 19 lifts, but with access to the whole Zillertal Superski area, around 450km can be explored. The ski areas directly surrounding Fügen are Spieljoch and Hochfügen, and skiing in these areas can be as high as 2500m. With the ski area being quite high, good snow conditions can generally be expected.

With a good selection of restaurants, ranging from traditional Austrian cuisine to perhaps the more favoured international cuisine, the ski resort of Fügen can cater to everyone. The nightlife here is quite laid back and not overly lively, with a few bars and nightclubs dotted around.

Beginners skiing in the ski resort of Fügen
Complete beginners will find this a great resort to learn to ski in, as there is a fantastic ski school located on the nursery slopes right by the main gondola. Once you’ve progressed from the nursery slopes, there are lots of easy blue runs to ease you in.
Intermediates skiing in the ski resort of Fügen
Fügen is particularly well suited to intermediate skiers, as the majority of runs are reds and blues, and the 40km of cross country skiing is great for those looking for slightly more difficulty.
Advanced skiing in the ski resort of Fügen
Underneath the Krossbichl chair lift in the Hochzillertal/Kaltenbach area is a brilliant 3km long run, with 500m vertical, a thrill for advanced skiers. There are also some difficult runs on the Spieljoch Mountain not to be missed.
Snowboarding in the ski resort of Fügen
The ski resort of Fügen is a great base for snowboarders, particularly intermediate level boarders. In nearby Spieljoch and Hochfügen there are two fun parks, equipped with jumps and rails, and a great half pipe awaits you in Hochzillertal. There’s also some excellent free riding terrain in the area.
