Accommodation records for resort:
Nestled between the striking peaks of the ‘Wilder Kaiser’ mountain range, in the heart of the Kitzbüheler Alps, lies the lovely village of Brixen. The ‘Skiwelt Wilder Kaiser/Brixental’ is the largest linked ski region in Austria, boasting 250 km of piste, 92 lifts and modern snowmaking systems ensuring snow security. A lively leisure time offer, along with over 70 restaurants and après ski hotspots offer you a wealth of entertainment and fun. A lift pass upgrade to the ‘Kitzbüheler Alpenskipass’ guarantees royal ski enjoyment on 668 km of piste! Brixen- royal ski enjoyment!

Brixen in Thale (794 m) is one of the oldest settlements in Tyrol and is dotted by traditional farms and mountain huts. Brixen is an excellent wintersport resort set in a unique mountain landscape. The neighbouring village Hopfgarten (621 km) enjoys one of the sunniest locations in the Kitzbüheler Alps. The narrow alleys in Brixen’s traditional village centre are the perfect place for a leisurely walk. You’ll enjoy the “gemütlichkeit” in the nearby town of Itter (704 m), whose city panorama includes an old castle and who has managed to escape the effects of mass tourism.

the skiing

The gondola takes you to Hochbrixen, where lifts diverge for Hohe, Salve and Soll, orAstberg and Ellmau. There’s a small area of northfacing runs, including nursery slopes, on the other side of the village.

advanced

The Black run alongside the Brixen gondola is one of the few challenging pistes in the area.

intermediate

When snow is good, Brixen has some of the best slopes in the ski Welt – including some challenging ones.

beginners

The nursery slopes are secluded and shady.

après ski

Après ski is quiet, but livelier in Westendorf, which is a short taxi ride.
