Brixen in Thale (794 m) is one of the oldest settlements in Tyrol and is dotted by traditional farms and mountain huts. Brixen is an excellent wintersport resort set in a unique mountain landscape. The neighbouring village Hopfgarten (621 km) enjoys one of the sunniest locations in the Kitzbüheler Alps. The narrow alleys in Brixen’s traditional village centre are the perfect place for a leisurely walk. You’ll enjoy the “gemütlichkeit” in the nearby town of Itter (704 m), whose city panorama includes an old castle and who has managed to escape the effects of mass tourism.

The Black run alongside the Brixen gondola is one of the few challenging pistes in the area.
intermediate
When snow is good, Brixen has some of the best slopes in the ski Welt – including some challenging ones.
beginners
The nursery slopes are secluded and shady.
après ski
Après ski is quiet, but livelier in Westendorf, which is a short taxi ride. |
