Brand ski resort information
The small Austrian village of Brand is a ski resort located close to the Swiss border, and in a valley underneath the Brandner glacier. This moderately sized village provides a traditional setting, with chalet style half board hotels being the main accommodation type.
Brand itself sits at 910m, but skiing can be as high as 2000m. With 14 lifts serving approximately 55km of pistes, this pretty ski resort is great for those looking for a peaceful place to enjoy a weeks skiing.
The ski area is accessed by two chair lifts, one at either end of the village. These take you to the slopes where drag lifts continue to serve the area. The ski area is divided by a rocky ridge into two sections, and some great tree lined runs can be skied back down to the resort.

Being a traditional Austrian resort, Brand has most of its après ski bars in hotels, scattered throughout the village. Whether you prefer a quiet drink or a lively evening, there’ll be a bar here for you.

Whilst there isn’t a huge amount of activities here to keep non-skiers occupied, there is a climbing school, riding school and a small bowling alley which will keep you busy for a few hours.
Beginners skiing in the ski resort of Brand
The ski resort of Brand is well suited to beginner skiers, as gentle blue runs provide a comforting setting for perhaps the less confident skier.
Intermediates skiing in the ski resort of Brand
If you’re an intermediate skier who enjoys cruising down red and blue runs whilst taking in the beautiful scenery, then Brand is a great resort for you. However more mileage hungry skiers or for those looking for more challenging runs, there isn’t a great deal here.
Advanced skiing in the ski resort of Brand
With a few black runs to entertain advanced skiers, and some fun off piste to try out, Brand has some appeal; however don’t expect runs to have a huge degree of difficulty.
Snowboarding in the ski resort of Brand
The ski resort of Brand appeals similarly to snowboarders as it does to skiers, as there’s a fair range of terrain and runs to provide most levels with enough piste to explore. It should be noted, however, that drag lifts are the main lift type used here.
