as you drive up to the grüner baum – a magical winter wonderland greets you. originally a hunting lodge of the arch duke johann, dating back to 1831, the famous grüner baum (green tree) consists of 5 buildings, which make up the hotel village.
the hospitality of the blumschein family greatly contributes to an excellent holiday or weekend break of the highest class. the hotel has an excellent reputation for both austrian and international cuisine, and is renowned for its wine cellar.
for your well being, there is the "thermal" water indoor pool, steam room, fitness room and an extensive spa beauty therapy area. children are well catered for in the "bäumlings club" with its own playroom. there is a children’s cinema and a wide range of activities to keep the little ones amused. even the thermal indoor pool has dedicated children’s times! the ski kindergarten, with the hotel’s own baby lift and slopes, enables the little ones to soon learn the abc of the snow. adults and older children can take the free hotel shuttle service to the graukogel chair lift, 500m away, which will whisk you away into the extensive gastein ski area.
