Accommodation records for resort:
Set in the Andorran Pyrenees, Soldeu is probably Andorra’s best known resort, especially recommended for budding beginners and improving intermediates, but will also tempt competent skiers, too. The friendly Anglo-European atmosphere, varied skiing, comprehensive lift system and glorious sunshine; together with the lively après ski and reasonably priced. drinks, make Soldeu and the neighbouring villages of El Tarter and Canillo an ideal choice for a fun-filled, great value ski holiday. Accommodation is of an excellent standard!
Soldeu ski resort information

Soldeu is one of Andorra’s most popular ski resorts and shares its ski area with Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, El Tarter and Canillo which together amounts to 197 km of piste in an area called Grandvalira. 67 lifts connects to the ski runs that are on 16% green, 35% Blue, 29 % red and 20% black.

Soldeu sits on the slopes of a wide wooded valley where the views from the slopes of the surrounding mountains are perfect. The slopes are generally best suited to beginners and low intermediate skiers, but snowboarders are well catered for too with and excellent terrain park, possibly the best in the Pyrenees.

Ski Line offers mainly Hotels and apartments in the ski resort of Soldeu, we offer these ski holidays both with and without flights.

Soldeu has a good snow record and with most of the slopes facing north the snow normally last well and 43% of the slopes are covered by snow making machines in case the snow fall is low.

Après ski in ski resort Soldeu

The night life after skiing finishes is good, many of the bar offer happy hour and these fill up as the slopes empty. The Piccadilly located beneath the Sport hotel is popular with friendly staff and live band playing most nights, so too does Fat Albert’s and The Aspen bar. For the younger crowd the Avalanche is the place to be.

Activities off the slopes in ski resort Soldeu

Off slope activities are limited in Soldeu, serveral of the hotels have spas open to non guests, including The Sport Hotel Heritage and the Piolets hotel. It’s also possible to try tubing or even ride a motor bike and buggies on the snow.

Beginners skiing in ski resort Soldeu

Soldeu is a perfect place to learn to ski; the nursery slopes are located away from the village so it requires a lift pass to access the lifts, beginner’s passes are available at around €25 per day. The ski school at Soldeu has a very good reputation. Once the basics have been mastered there are many easy run to progress to. Getting back down to the village is reached by tree lined blue runs, if you don’t fancy that then the lift back down is always an option.

Intermediates skiing in ski resort Soldeu

Soldeu is a very good choice for intermediate skiers and boarders as the choice of suitable runs is excellent. Many of the red and black runs have steep sections preceded by flatter sections which are ideal for those looking to build confidence. For the more nervous intermediates try the blue run in the Canillo/El Forn sector, it’s always empty and has great views from the ridge down to Arinsal and joins on to an easy black down to the valley floor.

Advanced skiing in ski resort Soldeu

It’s the off-piste skiing that will be the major draw for advanced skiers in Soldeu. The only real challenging black run is Avet, but many of the others would be graded as reds in other resorts. When fresh snow has fallen the bowl above Riba Escorxada is always fun. The off piste snow tends to stay good weeks after fresh snow has fallen as most visitors here stay on the piste.

Snowboarding in ski resort Soldeu

This resort is up and coming for snowboarding and offers a terrain park with half pipe and jumps as well as some good off piste opportunities.
