Half Term skiing holidays
The February half term, normally in the 2nd and 3rd week of February, are the main peak weeks in the ski season. It's vital that bookings for this period are made early to secure the best places to stay.
Ski Line offers a wide choice of skiing holidays at half term suitable for families, either in catered ski chalets which are ideal for groups of families travelling together. Some of our ski chalets have in house crèches and nannies to allow the parents a holiday too.
We also feature hotels with facilities for children which could include swimming pools and games rooms. Some hotels even offer child care after ski lessons have finished, these hotels will always attract families over the half term week so friends are quickly made by youngsters and parents alike. Please remember Chalets and hotels with child care book especially early and so do ski schools!
Clients searching for half term ski deals have come to the right place as Ski Line, as well as dealing with British tour operators (who mark up prices of ski holidays prices over half term) also deal with German suppliers who’s schools don’t have a February half term at this time, so their prices remain the same throughout all of February!
Ski Line also offer a wide range of self catered ski apartments, many are situated right next to the slopes. If you are new to skiing with your family you might not realise just how important this could be. Try walking up a hill carrying not only your own skis and poles, but your children’s too! Get the picture?! In recent years the quality of newly built apartments has increased, particularly in the ski resorts of France. Take for example the newly opened 5* L’Amara apartments in Avoriaz, not only do they have an indoor swimming pool and spa, but now an ice rink right on its door step too, and in 2012/13 season the opening of a new Centre parks still swimming dome, complete with flumes and water slides.
A skiing holiday with your children has to one of the very best holidays for families, even when they are learning and in ski school most of the week, when the little ones eventually join the adults at the end of the week to show their proud parents what they have achieved, the look of delight on their faces as they ski or snowboard down the slopes is a memory for many parents that will last for ever.
Many schools are restricting parents from taking children out of school during term time. But don't forget Easter holidays. The snow is normally still great even when Easter falls late in the ski season.

Italian schools have their half term the week after ours in Feb 2012, this means that the slopes won’t be too crowded on the UK half term of 11/12th February.
