Ski Finland - Finnish ski resorts

Skiline offers both skiing and Santa trips in December to Finland. Being so far north the season's snow is very reliable with the season opening in late November through to the middle of May. Some of the ski resorts in Finland are on the edge of the Artic Circle, and others very close it.

The landscape is unlike other ski destinations Skiline offers, with frozen trees transforming nature into a fairytale land.

Skiline offers the following ski resorts in Finland: Iso-Syote, Levi, Pyha, Salla & Yllas. Please contact our team for more details and about our Santa trips. Down hill skiing is limited and generally speaking the runs are gentle rather than steep. Finland is the best destination to try cross-country skiing where the terrain is ideal.

The resorts open a few runs in late November, but most don't completely open until mid February. For two months in mid winter the sun does not rise, not at ground level at least, but most resorts have flood lit skiing. The mountains don't open fully until Mid February, when a normal skiing day is possible.

Temperatures can be extreme, yo-yoing between Zero to -30C. Best skiing days are normally the coldest.

It's normally late in the season that skiing in Finland normally comes into its own, with warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours.

Piste conditions are normally hard packed powder or fresh snow from the beginning of the season to mid May.

Snow reliability, particularly in late season, is very good.

Finland is an ideal destination for those looking for more than just a skiing holiday, as many other activities are available, such as Husky dog sleigh rides, ice fishing, snowmobile safaris and reindeer sleigh rides. English is widely spoken in both ski schools and in the resorts.
